Registration for Spring Classes & Summer Art Camps @ The Art League is now open!

I really didn't know what to expect when I signed my partner and I up for drawing classes at The Art League in Alexandria.  If you're not familiar with The Art League, they are a non-profit organization that organizes exhibits, provides classes and workshops, and operate an arts supply store in Alexandria.  Their classes are held at both the Torpedo Factory and the Madison Street Annex in the Old Town section of Alexandria.  They offer a huge variety of classes and workshops from woodblock printmaking to drawing, ceramics, and even furniture making.

Our basic drawing class was great!  It was reasonably priced, and the instructor was warm, encouraging and loads of fun.  The students represented lots of different ages, backgrounds and skill levels, so if you're thinking about enrolling, you don't have to worry about "fitting in" - all kinds are welcome here.  This atmosphere really made the class fun and interesting.  The best part for me, is walking around everyone's work at the end of the class and seeing the different works and styles.

Registration is now open for spring classes and workshops, so check it out!  It's a great way to learn something new, meet a few of your neighbors and switch on the creative side of your brain.

Work by multiple students in the beginning drawing class.  Each student will work on 1 or 2 sections of the overall piece to make one larger piece.
